On 30th October 2017, the African World Heritage Fund delegation held high level consultative meetings at the headquarters of the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The AWHF delegation was led by Mr. Vusumuzi Mkhize, the Chairperson of the African World Heritage Fund Board and the Director General of the Department of Arts and Culture South Africa. The delegation met with the new Commissioner for Social Affairs , H.E Ms. Amira Mohammed Elfadil and the Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology (HRST), H.E Pof. Sarah Mbi Enow Anyang Agbor as well as the Director of Director of Rural Economy and Agriculture (DREA) Mr. Godfrey Bahiigwa. The delegation also paid a courtesy call to the office of the Chairperson of the African union Commission and held discussions with the Deputy Chief of Staff Mr. Tordeta Ratebaye and the spokesperson to the Chairperson Ms. Ebba Kalondo. Mr. Mkhize introduced to the Fund and its programmes to the new AUC team. Possible areas of cooperation between the Fund and AUC were discussed at the meetings.
