Consultancy: African World Heritage Fund 20th Anniversary Visibility and Strategic Communications Support

  1. Background

The African World Heritage Fund (AWHF) invites qualified and experienced consultants to submit proposals for the provision of Strategic Communications and Visibility Support for its upcoming 20th Anniversary Campaign (2025–2026).

As AWHF marks two decades of advancing the implementation of the World Heritage Convention across Africa, the Fund is launching a high-impact anniversary campaign designed to elevate its global profile, strengthen partnerships, and support strategic fundraising efforts.

We are seeking a dynamic consultant to support the Partnerships and Communications Section in amplifying the visibility, positioning, and brand presence of AWHF during this milestone period.

  1. Purpose of the Consultancy

The appointed consultant will:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive 20th Anniversary Communications & Visibility Strategy
  • Strengthen AWHF’s continental and global brand positioning
  • Support high-level media engagement and thought leadership positioning
  • Drive digital campaign performance and storytelling impact
  • Align communications with fundraising and partnership objectives
  1. Duration
  • 09-month consultancy: 01 April 2026 – 31 December 2026
  • Estimated 8 working days per month, 15 hours per week
  • Possibility of extension subject to performance and funding availability
  1. Required Profile
  • Advanced degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, International Relations, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in strategic communications
  • Proven track record working with international organisations, foundations, or multilateral institutions
  • Strong media relations experience (Africa and international)
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital campaigns and brand positioning
  • Familiarity with UNESCO or African Union systems is an advantage
